When Page and I first met in NYC in 2005, I was coming off my 127th internship and subsequent move, while she had just wrapped up a two-year run in Honduras with the Peace Corps.  We weren’t crazy thrill-seekers by any means, but we also weren’t risk/move/OMG-averse.

We eventually got married, moved across the Hudson to Hoboken, and after a year, in 2007, we both got dream job offers in Raleigh.  We decided it was the perfect time and place to start a family, so off we went.

Santa hats? Santa hats.

Charlotte: The future home of the world’s cheesiest Christmas cards.

That was SEVEN %*(&*@^ YEARS AGO, and what a run it’s been.  We’ve been closer to family, reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and built a great network here, all while adding three children to the world…and driving down its collective IQ.  Raleigh has been more than we could have ever imagined.

But…

Now we’re moving to Charlotte…which is still crazy to see in print.

Page recently accepted an offer to join FOX 46 as its new morning anchor.  It’s something she’s been working toward since 2005 when I ran prompter for her first resume tape at the old MSNBC Studios in Secaucus (now MLB Network!).  We have family there (including Page’s brother, SIL and SIL’s sister, the latter two of which are now known simply as TEAM 49STRAIGHTPULLUPS), and while I will be coming back to Raleigh often for work (we’ll be keeping my office in North Hills), I am able to work from Charlotte as well, continuing the exciting things we have going with KFA Search.  Timing with the kids is as good as it’s going to get too, as Ford will be entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Page’s first day is June 30, so we’re a month out.  We’ll be spending the next few weeks trying to soak up every last little bit of Raleigh we can, and we hope to see all of our friends here at least one more time before we leave.

It’s been real, Raleigh.  Thanks for the great memories, and per Cal, specifically we would like to thank you for the Monkey Joe’s off Glenwood.  That place is awethome.
