We did it! Thanks to your generosity and my shameless moves, I took home the the title belt yesterday.

First male to ever win. Most money raised by a contestant ever ($4,400+). And it was all because of you guys. Thanks for putting up with my emails, videos, blog posts, etc. I know I crossed over the annoying line a long time ago, but please know that your money went to an amazing cause in the National Inclusion Project. All told we raised north of $18K, which was only slightly more than the previous record of…$11,500. Yeah, we crushed it.

Thanks to everyone at the National Inclusion Project, the Aikens, the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Raleigh, the Raleigh Southern Women’s Show, to Page, to the crew who came to cheer me on, to the greatest dance instructor in the world Aubrey Horne, to Sloane, Amber, Kitty, Sharon, and the best and bravest dancer of them all, Jonathan. And finally, again, thanks to everyone who donated. I can’t begin to thank you enough.

Some legit video is apparently coming soon, but in the meantime, I’ll leave you with two of the worst videos of all time (below). Please forgive my wife, as it was hard for her to focus on the camera once I broke out the Dougie.

As a friend said to me yesterday afterward, “You know, Jake, you’ve now won two dance competitions.” My tombstone text is now complete.
